Living in Ruardean, one of the highest points in the Forest, Trish can view four counties. Watching the light and colours of the landscape change with the different seasons is reflected in her glass work.
Always fascinated by the textures and rich glow of coloured glass, Trish started making stained glass around 5 years ago. She uses traditional cathedral stained glass, zinc soldered joints, mostly blackened with "patina". She sometimes uses copper patina and all work is strengthened and waterproofed.
Her work is based on what she sees around her. She dislikes rigid harsh lines and tends to "go with the flow of Nature". Main subjects for her window and door panels, hangings, light catchers, dividers and hanging shop signs are flowers, trees, plants, churches and landmarks. Trish starts by drawing her idea out and then transfering this onto larger scale paper and "mapping out". Her talent is in the selection of colour and texture and building up her lovely glass panels.
Trish always works with you on ideas - you can commisssion a design based on a favouite flower, plant or landscape. She is always happy to make something beautiful for someone's home. Ring first to visit Trish.
