The George Cafe and Gallery is situated in the mellow riverside village of Newnham on Severn. This newly refurbished 19th-century building offers an artistic, culinary & relaxing experience. " The Gallery Upstairs" hosts a mixture of events, various contemporary artists, talks, films. From 9th July to 21st August a new exhibition of wood engravings by Peter Reddick. The George is part of The Camphill Village Trust, there is an organic cafe serving locally sourced delicious food & cakes and also local cider and beer. The courtyard offers outdoor eating amongst mosaics and sculpture. A well stocked bookshop & handmade toy-shop leads off the courtyard. The weavery where you can watch the spinners is a glorious riot of hand dyed wools, beautiful colours and an amazing collection of woven goods and wool for sale. Everything from children's and adult's jumpers, mats, hats, runners, shawls and bags. In the cafe there's a small children's play area. Space may be hired for small recitals and community events like Fairtrade sales or exhibitions. Activities currently are the Community Choir and a Knitting Group. Therapists also offer various treatments here. Open Mondays - Saturdays 9am - 5pm. Fridays TAPAS NIGHT!- to 10pm. Stairs to Gallery.

Arts, Choir every Wednesday. Weaving, Knitting group every Monday. You can hire the upstairs gallery space for meetings. Has grand Piano. Has drop down large screen.
On going exhibitions change every 8 weeks or so.
